Transportation Options
Dogs and Puppies that will be leaving the state of Iowa will need additional veterinarian paperwork and health papers. This paperwork expires after 10 days. Prior scheduling will need to be set and respected.
Option 1
In-Person Pick Up
Families and individuals are welcome to drive or fly in and rent a car to pick up their dog. We welcome people into our mutual meeting place (for bio-security reasons you will not be able to visit our whelping OB area).
A scheduled time needs to be set up prior to pick up.
Option 2
Airport Carry-On
We are willing to meet at the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) with young puppies under 20 pounds to be brought onto the airplane as a carry-on bag. A transport pet carried will need to be supplied by the family.
A scheduled time for drop off and $100 travel fee needs to be set up prior to drop off.
Option 3
Airport Flight Nanny Carry-On
We have a trusted flight nanny that will take your puppy (under 20 pounds) as a carry-on bag and fly to your closest airport. From there you meet the flight nanny at the airport to pickup your puppy.
A scheduled time needs to be coordinated between Turn Key, the Transporter, and the Family.
Option 4
Recommended Transportation Company
We have a trusted transport company that will take your dog or puppy (any age and size) in their car door-to-door. Directly from our home to yours. Canines travel in a roomy crate and stay overnight in pet-friendly hotels.
A scheduled time needs to be coordinated between Turn Key, the Transporter Katie, and the Family.
Option 5
Third-Party Transportation Company
If an individual or family wants to hire out to a different transport company than what I have on my recommended list and trust, then they must sign a liability waiver stating that I am not responsible for:
delays to travel by the transport company
injuries or dehydration to the dog during transport
lost or missing paperwork (shot records, vet wellness, health records, fecal test results, registration, microchip info)
Turn Key Ridge Labradors as the breeder, reserves the right to turn away a transport company if they do not:
have the proper sized crate
have the proper transport gear (leashes, bowls, toys, blankets, etc.)
dog or puppy shows immediate negative resentment towards the transporter
